I’ve recently seen many people discussing a stablecoin called USDT0 — how does it differ from USDT?
USDT is the traditional stablecoin issued by Tether (available in different contract versions on various chains such as ERC-20, TRC-20, SPL, etc.). USDT0 is a Tether-launched “omnichain / unified cross-chain” version designed to consolidate USDT liquidity across multiple chains (by locking tokens on the source chain and minting on the target chain via mechanisms that keep a 1:1 peg).
What it means for you:
Both are equivalent in their USD peg, but they have different contract addresses and will display differently in wallets. Before making transfers, always verify the token contract comes from an official source (or use a reputable exchange/wallet) to avoid fake tokens or malicious lookalikes.
